Sick boyfriend

Hi everyone,

I'm so happy that it is weekend now. What is even better??? I don't have to work for 2 weeks now. It's Easter Holidays and the kids are off from school. So we, the teachers, are having the time off too. I don't have real plans for this holiday. Just relax, do some scrapbooking, knitting, watching DVD's, .... Just enjoying live.

Eric is having the flu since Monday. It was better during the week but now it got worse again. He has his own pub so he can't close the pub to stay in bed. I guess that's why the flu is getting worse. I worked at his pub yesterday evening because he felt terrible. Right now, he's working again but this evening he will stay at home. It will be the first time in months that we are together at home on a Saturday evening. Well, I guess he will sleep the whole evening, but at least he's here with me.

Just finished baking some cookies. It has been ages since I last baked cookies. Normally I bake cake of muffins. The cookies will have two layers and between them there will be raspberry jam. I hope they turn out good. I'll let you know.

My running is going fine. I finished lesson 6 last Thursday. Right now I have two days off from running and I need to take lesson 7 on Sunday.

Spring again

Here are some pages of my Thailand album. I made them 2 weeks ago but didn't find the time to download them on my pc.


Spring is in the air again!! We are having fanatstic weather for about 3 days now. The temperature is around 18°C. When I came home from work yesterday, I changed my clothes and started running. I did lesson 5 this time and it's getting better. I sweat a lot while I run but I guess that's me burning calories, haha. I could run in a t-shirt with short sleeves. It felt like heaven.

This afternoon I worked in the garden (cut the grass, don't know the word in English). I cleaned the stairs in the house too. The windows are open in the bedrooms to let the spring air inside. After running yesterday evening, I started cleaning the upstairs (bathroom, bedrooms). I guess I have spring cleaning spirit!

Last night was a bad night for my head again. It was so painful. I went to bed at 9 pm and normally I go to sleep at 11 pm. I hope there is nothing wrong with me. Maybe it's just because I'm not used to teaching fulltime again.

It's hard to work fulltime and then start cleaning the house, preparing lunch for the next day, prepare dinner, ... I don't have time to scrap anymore . I'm used to scrap every day so that's a huge change for me. Well, I love teaching so I don't mind working fulltime again. It's only for 1,5 week and then it's my normal schedule again.

Another Monday

Here I am again. Yeah, I kow, it has been a few days since I last updated. I didn't feel like surfing on the net and reading weblogs as I had a painful head the past week. I hope it ends soon. Grrrrr, I hate those headacks.

Today was my first real teaching day at the new school. I had a great time and the kids are lovely. I'm sure I'll have a blast there. Pitty that I have to leave on Friday again. Well, at least I'll have a few days together with them. I forgot how it was to work full-time. From the moment I got home, I had to start working again. I need to cook lunch for tomorrow, need to iron some clothes, need to make dinner, ... My god, when will I do all of this. It's freaking me out!! I'm used to a peaceful live with free time to read books, scrap, watch tv. Hmmm, this will change for a week.

Last week I got a big surpise in my mail. Mommahoop has send me a large box ful of surprises for me!!! It took a while untile the box made it to my home as the delivery service presented the box at the wrong house. They went to house number 5 and I live in 51. Suddenly I got a phonecall from the delivery service to ask if I still want the box. I was like : still want the box?!?? I never knew it was in Belgium. So I told them to come over the next day as I was at home then. A man came the next morning and I had to pay him 9,90 euro to get the box. He told me that it was a tax.

So, how was your weekend? Mine was like usual. Did some scrapping, watched tv, ...

Friday

Let me think about what happened the past days. Oh yes, I had to start in that other school. I was a bit nervous when I arrived at the school but everyone was very friendly to me so I felt good. The kids seem nice too. I didn't have to teach (only starting Monday) but the principal asked me to come and meet the kids. The other teacher of grade 1 took both class groups. I'll be there till the end of next week and I don't mind at all. It's a pitty that it is for only 1,5 week but at least I'll be paid more this month. Hmmm, what can I do with the extra money???? Lot's of things that I can spend it on but I think I'll save it.

Thursday evening we planned to go out for dinner at Oostende. That's a city about 60 km away from our home. Last year we found a very nice restaurant there so we made a reservation for this evening. It's a gastronomic restaurant. We paid 75 euro per person but all the wine and champagne was included. The menu had 6 dishes so that was a lot. The food was fantastic. My diet is totally ruined. I'm sure about that.
After dinner we went to a lounge bar at the casino. The decoration was wonderful. You can see it on the picture on top. It must have costed lots of money to decorate that bar. Hmmm, the prices were rather high too but it was a nice experience.

We booked a hotel room as we knew that we would drink too much to drive. So this morning there was a breakfast buffet at the hotel. If you know me really good, then you know that breakfast is my favourite meal of the day. I ate lots of things like, chocolate bread, boiled egg, cheese, salami, toast, yoghurt. Yeah, I know!! It's a lot. So now it's official, my diet is ruined. I didn't weight myself today and I don't think that I'll do that before next week on Thursday.

I hope everyone has a nice weekend. Think I'll scrap a bit on Saturday but I'm not at home on Sunday.

Strange weather

I planned to start running today. Yeah, a friend told me that she started running with a podcast on iPod. It's called 'start to run' and they promis that you can run 5 km at the end of all the trainings. Hmmm, I'm curious about that. I should sport more so I thought it would be nice to start running as it doesn't cost much. All I need is my sport shoes and sporting clothes. Oops, can't forget my iPod either. The iPod will tell me when to run and when to walk. Meanwhile there is music so it's a nice way of running. I'll let you know if I liked it. If it stops raining, I'm off to do some sports.

* Monday*

The past days have been great. Well, at least the weather was, haha. The sun was out. I could wear a light jacket instead of my winter coat. Enjoyable temperatures. Spring was in the air.

When I woke up this morning I saw SNOW!!! Yes, indeed, real snow!!! Can you believe that??? I want those spring days again. Now it's cold and it rains every now and then. I hate that weather and above all that I feel sick. Yesterday evening, my head was really painful and I felt like throwing up (but I didn't). I went to bed at 8.30 pm. It was better this morning but now (at 3 pm) my head starts to hurt again. Hope it won't be like yesterday.

My first 'start to run' training went fine. It's great to run with my iPod and that podcast telling me when to run and when to walk. The first day I had to train for 18 min. It will be more tomorrow. I had to rest for one day so tomorrow is another training day. After running I took a shower and I felt so relaxed. I hope to continue with that programm. At least when I feel better tomorrow.

I guess I'll rest a bit in the sofa. Maybe if I sleep a bit, I will feel better.

Wednesday evening, my friend Daphne came to scrap together. She had a little present for both of us. It was a yummie present. She bought some chocolate eggs that we could eat while scrapping. I love the white chocolate ones and brown but not black. I scrapped a page about Eric who's scuba diving in Thailand. It's not finished yet. I guess we talked too much instead of scrapping.

Yesterday we went to some kitchen stores to get some ideas. I saw some really nice ones and I took some pics of them. Unfortunatly Eric doesn't like white for a kitchen so we need to compromise. In the last store we found a nice kind of wooden doors and we can choose the colours. I agreed with Eric for that one as I liked it too. Didn't take any pics of it as the salesman was around us the whole time. He will make a pricelist and drawing about the kitchen and we have a new appointment within 2 weeks. We haven't decided yet, just wanted to know how much it would cost. So we can choose other kitchens if we don't like the price or choose another shop. All options are open!!

In the evening we went out with friends and had a few drinks. Well, I got a little drunk as I didn't drink alcohol since I started dieting. That was 2 months ago. I had lots of fun and that's the most important thing. We had dinner in a nice restaurant too. I had a pasta dish with scrimps and mushrooms. Mmmmm

Naughty kitty

Yesterday evening, my cat Baileys did something bad.
She's my little sweetheart but not right now. Guess what she did??? Well, she often drinks out of the glass bowl where my fish swims. Suddenly I hear the sound of glass on the ground. Yep, she managed to break the glass bowl. There was water everywhere and I couldn't find the fish. Suddenly I saw him/her under the kitchen table. Well, the fish is still alive but I don't have a bowl to put the fish in so now she's swimming in a plastic thing. While I was cleaning the floor I cut myself in the thumb with the glass. Grrrr. What a bad evening!!! Baileys is so scared now that she hides herself under the sofa. Well, that is what she deserves. Naughty kitty!!!

This wednesday is another fantastic spring day! I took a pic of the blue sky this morning but I didn't find the time to upload it yet. I'll try to post it tomorrow.
I've been cleaning the living room cause my cats leave hair everywhere. I've done some ironing and laundry too. The laundry is outside now. It can dry in the sun.
My friend Daphné is coming over this evening to scrap together. It will be lots of fun as always. We talk a lot and get some scrapping done too. Well, not as much as when I'm alone but it's nice to have some company. Oh yes, she has a blog too. You should visit it at www.xanga.com/dafkapin

Spring is here!

Hi everyone,

How was your weekend?? I hope you had a relaxing one.
Mine was fine. Did nothing special. On Saturday I made a scrapbook page about Eric and I who went jetskiing in Thailand. After scrapping I watched an British detective movie called Taggart. I always watch that kind of movies on Saturday evening. We have one channel on tv that broadcast this kind of movies on Saturday. I got this habbit since several years as we watched it together with my dad when I was living at home.

On Sunday I went to Erics pub at noon. There were lots of people that I knew so I stayed there till Eric closed at almost 3 pm. Then I had to start cooking lunch. Yeah, I know, it's late at 3 pm but we can't eat until Eric is at home so I stayed with him this time. In the evening I was scrapping and reading a book. I really like the book. I started it on Friday and it's almost finished!!
I took a pic of myself wearing a pair of jeans that were too small for me for many years. So now they finally fit again. I guess I could even have a smaller size. What a happy feeling!!!

I decided to enter a CJ. I received the regulations yesterday and we are supposed to send our CJ before April 1st. I'm so excited about it. I still have to make my own CJ so I thought to cut cardstock into 8x8 and attach them using bookrings. Then I can add more pages later. I guess that's the best solution, don't you think? I can't wait to see all the other CJ's.

PIETER AND DAISY!!

Yeah, I'm so happy. My favourite dancing couple won!!! The pregnant lady did
very well too but I loved Pieter more. By the way, isn't he looking cute??
I was watching the show together with my mum and when we heard that Pieter won, we
were shouting out loud. Lucky, the neigbours couldn't hear it, haha.


Today is a real spring day. The sun is out and the temp. is about 13°C. I can even wear my other jacket. Not that winter coat. I hope it stays like this for a while.

Nothing else planned for this weekend. Just a relaxing time and do some scrapbooking. Oh yes, I went to the local craft store as there are 'open days'. There was a lady demonstrating the Cricut. If you are a scrapper, I suppose that you know what I'm talking about. That machine cuts letters, titles, tags, ornaments, .... I really would like to have one but it's a bit too expensive for the moment. It costs 299 euro. I think I'll buy them when it's my birthday. I can ask money to everyone instead of presents. That would be a good deal.

This evening we are having the finals of 'Dancing with Stars'. I've been watching it since the start so I'm very curious who will win. The 2 persons who are dancing the final are

- Cathrine Van Moerkerke: She's reading the news on a tv channel. People talk a lot about her because she's pregnant and still taking part at the contest. She dances fantastic. You wouldn't think that she's pregnant untill you see her belly.

- Pieter: he's a basketball player. It's so funny to see him dance as he's so tall and his dancing partner is so little. I love to see them dance and I hope they can win. Unfortunatly, I think the other couple will be favourite.
So, who will win???????

CJ - Circle Journal

This is a post for all the scrappers who read this blog! Did any of you ever participated in a CJ?? Did you like it? What were the themes? What size of Journal did you use?

Yes, I know I have many questions but that's because they are organising a CJ in a Yahoo group. I really would like to take part in it but I was wondering how it would be like.

Life as usual

What a day!! Well, not that it was that special but the weather is so bad. It has been raining since this morning and the wind is rather hard too. Just got home from work and I'm so happy to be in a warm house. I guess I'll take a bath and read a book while I'm in the bath. It's so relaxing to be in hot water, don't you think???

I have been doing the laundry yesterday evening. I have been washing some bed sheets and they were dry so I had to iron them. When I wanted to take the last one, I saw that Baileys was on it. Enjoying the smell and the warmth of freshly washed items. Later that evening she was under a blanket in the sofa too, haha. She loves to have it warm.

Nothing else to mention. Rather boring life right now.

Manic Monday

My god, this Monday turned out very diffrent from what I thought it would be. I was sleeping very peacefully when I heard a ringing sound. First I thought it was the alarm clock but then I realised that it was my mobile phone. I saw on the clock that it was 7.50 am so I wondered about who would call me that early. It was the principal of my school. He asked me if I could come to school today as they needed someone to take care of the todlers (they are 2,5 - 3 years old). Normally I teach primary school and not kindergarden. The teacher of the todlers couldn't make it to school today so he needed someone badly. I told him that it was ok for me as I only had to work in the afternoon normally. So we changed my hours to tomorrow. I'll work Tuesday afternoon instead of Monday afternoon. It was hard to teach those todlers the whole day. Didn't know what to do all the time so I let them play, told stories, made puzzels, made jewellery with beads, .... Yeah, busy day but I had a blast. They are so cute when they are little. Today was fun with them but I'm sooooo tired right now. Don't think that I'll scrap this evening. Maybe just a little knitting.
I made some muffins this weekend. As you know, my sister came over this weekend and she really love all kinds of desserts. Banana is her favourite fruit and she's addicted to chocolate so I made her banana/chocolate muffins. I was very happy with the result. She ate 3 of them and my dad had 4. So I guess you can say that they were yummie!!!

It was fun to have my sister around. She arrived at 6.45 pm on Saturday. My dad was here around 7.30 pm. We've spend the evening talking and drinking. I only had water and diet coke as I'm still on a diet. Well, I ate cheese, salami and chips too (not much of a diet for these things, haha). After my dad left at 00.30 am, my sister, her boyfriend and me went to Erics pub. We stayed there till 2 am and then went to bed as we all were pretty tired. The next day we had breakfast together and then we went to the art school where my sister and I were as kids. There was an open day and we wanted to see it again. Some childhood memories I guess. Here are some pics (on top as I haven't figured out yet how to put pics in my entry)!!

Sisters

My sister is coming over today and she's staying for the night at our place. It's great to have her and her boyfriend over. She lives 210 km away from us so we don't want them to drive late at night. I've bought some wine, cheese, chips, salami,... Yes, it should be a cosy evening over here. You can see a pic of the 2 of us.

Friday again!

Here I am again!! Yes, I know I didn't blog yesterday but it was Erics day off and I had to work too. In the morning I did some laundry and at noon I left to teach. When I came home, Eric was there too. We decided to do the grocery shopping. OMG, I was a bit suprised when we got the bill at the shop. It was 97 euro!!!! Yeah, food shopping is expensive but we bought some drinks too. My sister and her boyfriend are coming over for the weekend so I decided to ask my dad and his girlfriend too. Well, just for Saturday evening. We'll have a drink and eat some snacks. That's also one of the reason why the food bill was that high. Normally it's just Eric and myself but now we are with 6. Lucky, it's just for 1 evening, haha.

Last night, we watched 2 movies, Step UP and The Wicker Man. I love dancing movies so Step Up was a really good movie. My god, I wish I could dance like that girl. She was amazing and pretty too.
The Wicker Man was good but not fantastic. I thought it would be better. Nicolas Cage was acting great but the story wasn't that good. Anyway, we had a nice, relaxing evening and went to bed at 1.30 am.

This morning I got up at 8.30 am to start some cleaning. Remember the list I made on Wednesday?? Well, I didn't finish all the 'jobs' I told myself to do. So this morning I cleaned the stairs, hoovered the living room, cleaned the first part of the bathroom. I want the house to look spotless when my sis stays here.

The cats were lazy yesterday afternoon. Watch the pics on top.

And this is how far I'm with my knitting work. (Pic is on top again) Need to use another 'ball of yarn' but it's the first time that I will change yarn. Wish me luck.
