New Challenge + tutorial for felt flowers

The challenge this week at Scrap and Stamp Saturday (you can find the link on the right bar) is simple! We would love to see handmade flowers with at least one stamp used on your layout! Easy enough right we all love flowers, right?

I've made a tutorial for felt flowers. Feel free to use it. If you make any flowers and you use it on your layout, could you leave a comment with your blog? I would love to see your creations.

What you need?
- 3 colours felt
- scissors
- glue or other adhesive
- button

How does it work?
Draw 1 large petal and 1 smaller petal on paper. You can choose what size you want.

Cut out the templates and draw the petals on the felt. You will need 6 small petals and 12 large ones.

· 6 small ones in 1 colour
· 6 large ones in another colour
· 6 large ones in the third colour

Form each set of 6 petals into an overlapping circle. Glue each petal to the adjacent petal.

When you finish them all, you will have 3 flower layers

Stick the 3 layers on each other and use adhesive on top to stick the button.

Finished!!!

I used the sketch of Creative Scrappers for this layout!! You surely have to go over there to see the lovely sketches they have. http://creativescrappers.blogspot.com/

Another layout

Here is a new layout! I created it last Wednesday. Gent is a historical city in Belgium where we love to walk around, have a drink or eat a yummie meal. It's also the city where I went to university for 4 years. I had a wonderful time over there.

My scraproom

During my Easter holidays I painted my scraproom. I wanted some warm blue and I really love it. Then I bought a cupboard at Ikea to arrange my stuff. You can see it on the pic underneath this.

Do you like my new scraproom?

New Challenge at SSS

This week we have a fabulous sponsor, Gauche Alchemy! Know if you haven't seen there kits you really need to go check them out. They put together fun kits with all sorts of goodies in them, from little toys to book pages and anything else you can probably think of. So head over to the Gauche Alchemy store. They also post some cool tutorials and such on their blog.

Someone will win a Wholey Sheet kit. This photo is just some of what comes in it.
The challenge this week is to use a non-traditional scrap item on your pages. Which basicly means anything that you didn't buy in the scrap section...lol. It can be aluminum foil, coffee filter, tissue paper, wall paper, tree bark, anything at all. As long as it isn't something that you would normally use on a page. It can be a little or alot . What can your imagination come up with? Now if you are worried about things not being acid free you can use archival spray or don't let it touch your pictures. I know this will be more of a challenge for some than others, but that's what it is all about right?
And remember your layout must contain at least one stamp.
Gauche Alchemy sent the design team some goodies to play with as well. Please take a moment and check out every ones layouts.

A sporty challenge at SSS

Hi everyone,
It's a new week so that means a new challenge at http://scrapandstampsaturday.blogspot.com/

This week we are really into sports. So, all you have to do is create a layout about sports. Mine is about ballet. I was in a ballet group for almost 14 years. In the year 2000 we were invited in Japan to dance. If you know that I live in Belgium, you must understand how 'big' this was. I had a wonderful time with my friends there.

The sponsor of this week is Stamp and Create (check it out at http://www.stampandcreate.com/)

This is what Lacey is telling us about her store:

Stamp and Create is an on-line store carrying many popular brands of stamps, paper, and embellishments including: Wags n' Whiskers Rubber Stamps, High Hopes Stamps, Kraftin'™ Kimmie Stamps, Whiff of Joy, Stampavie, Penny Black, The Greeting Farm, Basic Grey, 7 Gypsies, Shimmerz, Nestabilities (always 20% off!!), charms and more!!

I am always adding new items to the store so check it out at http://www.stampandcreate.com/

This week Wags 'n Whiskers is having a Blog Hop and Release. The release is full of fun sporty images from our newest artist Cris de Lara! Come check out the fun!

One lucky participant will win a 12x12 Basic Grey Origins paper pack and a Wags n' Whiskers "lets play" stamp of their choice! Wow! What a prize!!

So, grap all your supplies and start creating!!

Design Team Call

As you probably all know, I'm a member of the DT of ScrapandStampSaturday (SSS). We are looking for some creative people to join us.

Here is the official DT call:

It is that time again! Time for us to add to our team! Would you like to be part of a fun group of ladies? Then we would love to have you!
We are looking for at least 4 more talented people to join our fabulous team!

The Requirements:
The term will be for 6 months (April 30th-October 31st). You will need to submit one page a week based on the challenges that you will receive ahead of time. I try to give them out at least a month in advance so that you can work ahead if you wish. Of course we all know that life gets in the way at times and that is okay too. I just ask that you let me know as soon as possible if you are going to miss. You will also need to submit one tutorial during your term.

You will also need to leave some love to those who play along with us. We all love comments so we like to spread the love!
You will be working with your own supplies mostly. I am sorry that I can not offer you supplies each month but occasionally our sponsors do offer some fabulous goodies for the design team to play with.

All you need to do is send the following to me at scrapandstampsaturday@gmail.com with DT CALL in the subject line by April 17th. I will be announcing the new members the following week!
1. A short bio
2. 3-5 of your favorite layouts featuring stamping, after all that is what we are all about here!
3. A link to your blog if you have one
4. A list of current and past design teams you may be on...no worries if you have never been on a design team...we would love to discover some fresh new talent!

We would also love for you to play along with our upcoming challenges if you get a chance. This will give us a chance to see a little more of your work!

Good luck everyone! I can't wait to see what you all submit!

Thank you for joining us for another Scrap and Stamp Saturday challenge. We love seeing everyone creations each week!

This week's challenge is all about Musical Inspiration. We want you to use a song title or lyrics in your page creation.

Our sponsor this week is Sew Many Cards and Jeri has generously offered 5 images of winners choice. Wowza!!

This is my take on the challenge. I used the title: Relax, take it easy. Do you know that song from Mika? I really love it.
